PALS (The Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to rescuing pets whose only option is life on the streets or euthanasia at a high-kill shelter. PALS purchased the café in March of 2011 with the goal of providing a superb dining experience in its own right and donating every dime to save lives. Last year alone 1000 homeless pets got a second chance at life and love through PALS. With the addition of the café and gift shop, we hope to double that number within a year. If you are going to eat out, why not do something good at the same time?

Our focus is on quality homemade food, prepared on the premises by our certified and seasoned staff. We are now serving breakfast, both take-out and in-house, featuring all homemade baked goods, such as scones and cinnamon rolls. Many of our breads are baked on the premises fresh each morning. Our soups are prepared here, as are most of our desserts. Enjoy a cup of espresso or cappuccino with fresh baked goods and wireless Internet access. We offer fresh Pecan Pie baked with pecans especially ordered from the south, Crème Caramel and Chocolate Mousse made from recipes discovered in Paris during our travels, hot and cold soups and some of the most inventive salads anywhere drizzled with homemade dressings. Our hearty sandwiches are served on freshly baked, often homemade bread - a meal fit for a king! We keep our prices low, our quality high and it is all tax free!

On Saturdays our partner rescue, All 4 Paws Dog Rescue, will be outside the café in the side driveway, with adoptable dogs. A bark-free event, the dogs have a suitable temperament for public viewing with a variety of breeds and sizes. So if you are looking for a new dog or cat, or know anyone who is, please spread the word about the availability of new pets right here beside the Black Cat Café every Saturday.

The café and gift shop are managed by key members of PALS, all of whom currently own and run businesses of their own. Please have a look in our gift shop for tax free shopping and keep us in mind for those special gifts. We will enclose a card to the recipient letting them know that their special gift has also saved the life of a pet who had nowhere else to turn. We will have wonderful raffles from time to time, including a Paris apartment with a full‑on view of the Eiffel Tower 300 meters away. So be sure to stop by frequently to see what unique offering is available!

Finally, we need volunteers - helping in the café and gift shop, making phone calls, managing our mailing list and other varied tasks. If you have 3 hours a week, we would love to talk to you. We gratefully accept donations of goods, as well as funds, and would love you to consider buying a Tshirt for $20. This money is dedicated to our building fund, insuring that our pets always have a place to go. Remember that anything you purchase is tax free and donations are tax deductible.
